Applied Plastics Appoints VP of Sales and Marketing

Applied Plastics LLC, a portfolio company of Vance Street Capital and a provider of PTFE coated mandrels and fine wire to the advanced catheter market, has appointed Michael Brown as vice president of sales and marketing. Brown will have responsibility for global sales and marketing, including Applied Plastics’ new on-line store which now offers shipment within the United States and Europe.
 
Brown brings more than 15 years of medical device industry experience in global sales and business development to this role where he will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of Applied Plastics’ sales strategy. With the recent introduction of a new web site, Brown will be focused on increasing market share and brand awareness of Applied Plastics’ PTFE Natural process. Applied Plastics created this position to ensure improved customer responsiveness through next day shipment via the new online store featuring PTFE coated mandrels and wire.
 
Over the past year, Applied Plastics has expanded its PTFE coating capacity and added key resources in customer service, quality, and operations. These investments are designed to help support continued business expansion and to meet customer delivery requirements.

Prior to joining Applied Plastics, Brown was vice president of global business development at Wytech Industries Inc. He also held various executive leadership roles – including executive vice president of product transfers, vice president of business development, and chief operating officer – at TechDevice Corporation and AdvancedCath. Brown has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Massachusetts and a Master’s in Business Administration from Boston College.
